I have this and i'm using a USB ethernet device but it says ( Successfully connected to internet from USB port Ethernet,UpBlink stable firmware up to date "Failed connection to CloudX") And its not taking photos.

mine says failed connection to CloudX, im using a modem ethernet device

is there a solution to auto-upload images from a hero 8 to a custom ftp server?

I left mine in a farm and when lockdown was announced in my country i haad hope it would continue recording, unfortunately only one months worth of photos.

has anyone found a better option? i am currently using the camdo, but it is so stressful and I need something that is more reliable and has better customer service. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can the blink also "charge" the GoPro when it is plugged in? Does it function as a battery eliminator? Or does the blink rely on battery power only?

Never found a solution to the problem I was having. Cam-do sent a new cable and a new Upblink and still the same results. Ended up using a DSLR with a timer. Cam-Do needs to focus on their tech support and tweak their product. I feel they are a very small company spreading themselves out to thin preventing them to focus on what’s important..... their customers. I felt like once I placed my order with Tom. I was on my own. Though I got the uplink to work but it was not consistent so I had to scrap the uplink and go to plan B...

You better step up your tech support game because as of now it sucks. 5 min my ass....... 2 weeks to address a simple issue with this product. 1. You got a question? Go to to their website fill out a form detailing your entire setup. 2. Wait forever to get a response, keeping in mind your at a construction site setting this up. 3. You get a response. But only if you call their sales number because they don’t have a tech support number. 4. So now you have to convince this poor receptionist to get in contact with the salesman to push the tech team into giving you a response. 5. So bam.... you get a response. A simple answer to a question that could’ve taken 2 min on the phone including on hold time. 6. Ok so now your back trying to get this install done because your on a roof of a building with the hot sun beating on you. 7. Bam... oh shit I forgot to ask about.... now your screwed. You have to repeat the whole process all over again. Just explained the steps you have to go thru to get urgent support from this company. We field guys you know who you are. We like to hustle on the fly shits gotta get done ... your at a job site and they are not going to stop because You have to wait for a response. This is the real world This is for you cam-do Don’t market a product to an Industry “construction” you know nothing about. Improve your tech support by dedicating a few techs to only answer urgent calls regarding field techs or photographers .
